Do I need to bring my own gear?
No gear? No problem! All training gear for the P1 course is provided by us. Let us help you "spread your wings" by introducing you to some of the world's top brands in the sport of paragliding. Later you will have the freedom to choose equipment based on market availability. We provide discounts on gear purchases to our students and club pilots. We will help you familiarize yourself with what works best for you. During your P1 course, your instructor will help you find the right gear you need so you are ready to "take-off" for your P2 course.
Safety & Certification Standards
We follow national and international standards when it comes to training, choosing the right gear, and flying. We use only paragliding-certified equipment approved for the purpose of flying and practice. While flying with us, there will be no uncertified gliders or any other uncertified and unapproved equipment.
What should I expect during training?
All classes are weather dependent and take about 3-4 hours per day. The best training conditions are primarily mornings and afternoons, but weather will have the final say. Sometimes we spend the whole day outside so be flexible.
What will I learn and where can I fly?
A P1/P2 course will walk and "fly" you through the ABCs of paragliding. As a P1 Certified Pilot, you are eligible to visit any Flight Parks/Schools in the US and beyond with P1-suitable terrain, under the brief supervision of an onsite instructor. As a P2 Certified Pilot, you are independent and gain access to a wide variety of flying sites in the US and around the world. P3, P4, and SIV courses obtained elsewhere over variable terrain are your next steps in the sport.
Where do you fly?
Mobility and flexibility are important to us. We practice and fly any season at various locations depending on weather. Some of our experienced club pilots can often be seen soaring near Sauk City WI, Madison WI, Mauston WI, Hager City WI, Adams WI, Milwaukee WI, Platteville WI, Hokah MN—Or high on cross-country flights across remote parts of the state.
What's the ultimate goal?
Our ultimate goal is to have you become proficient enough to fly independently, without constant supervision. The more sites and locations you fly in the United States and around the world, the more confident you'll become in your skills and knowledge of paragliding.
What happens after P2 certification?
As a P2 and up pilot, you are welcome to join us on seasonal paragliding trips. We travel to places in Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America for the purpose of paragliding and meeting with other pilots for cultural and skill interaction.
